Cure time is one key step to ensuring a wonderfully strong scent to your candle. You want to allow ample time for your wax and your fragrance to bind together. You truly want these two components to be integrated into each other. At the minimum, there is about a 2-week cure time with our candles. So it is best to not light your candle until it is fully cured.
Soy wax is considered to be one of the hardest of the waxes to attain a good scent throw from. On the molecular level of how soy wax is structured, there are many different types of chemical bonds. These chemical bonds trap the fragrance oil instead of allowing the fragrance oil to be readily evaporated (like paraffin wax allows), so the longer the candle can rest and let the wax & fragrance bind, the better your
candle will perform.
If you were to burn your candle before it's cure-by-date, your candle will physically burn fine yet the fragrance won't be as strong as if you had waited. Don't you want to fully enjoy your handcrafted candle? Our candles are scented all the way through (not just the exterior like those inexpensive ones from big box stores).
You can always enjoy the "cold throw" by taking off the paper lid and letting the aroma fill your space until the candle is cured.
If your candle does not have a curing insert, you are ready to burn your candle now!
