Our journey began in 2013 as a casual idea while enjoying a bottle of Santa Barbara County wine among friends, and it was quickly brought to life by artisan and owner, Christina Whippo with her handcrafted candles and reed diffusers. The goal was to produce a high quality, small production, handcrafted line of home fragrance products that were also safe and eco-friendly. After an overwhelming customer response, the product line was further expanded to include other home fragrance items.
Late Harvest Candle Co. ® is based out of Santa Ynez, California and sources all of its recycled containers from various Santa Barbara County wineries. Our wine bottle candles are treated to a 20-step process which includes hand-cutting and sanding the glass on it’s way to becoming a candle. All of our candles are hand poured with premium, phthalate free fragrances added to our signature soy wax and natural (lead free) cotton wicks.
Our products are produced the artisanal way, just like the wine from which we recycle our bottles from, with love and attention going into each item we make. We strive for supreme quality all while remaining environmentally conscious.
We have collaborated with several Santa Barbara County Wineries to repurpose their wine bottles into something wine drinkers can appreciate again. This harvesting of bottles helped to inspire our name and fuel the passion that goes into every finished product.
We hope you enjoy these products as much as we do, and please, don't forget to recycle your bottles and jars when you have finished enjoying them!
